What a wonderful experience we had today visiting Writhlington to take part in their Orchid Project. Children visited the propagation lab where we used microscopes to look at orchid seeds and talked about seed dispersal and how the students at Writhlington grow and cultivate more orchids. We also visited their greenhouse where we saw a variety of different orchids and learnt how they grow on trees in humid environments. We were able to plant our own orchid and take it home. Can your child remember how to take care of it?
